Given, I rarely bake on a Sunday. This was outside of my weekly baking schedule, and I did it full-well knowing it might just suck. This is how you learn, though, by throwing yourself into it all willy-nilly and see what works, what didn't, and how we can apply it in the future.

So yesterday I made a Parsnip Spice Cake with Goat Cheese and Sour Cream Whipped frosting. I'd say alone, both segments could have promise. The parsnip cake is akin to carrot cake with pumpkin pie spice (which I learned to make). The frosting is very cool and smooth. Together, however, it's just *awful*. It's such a pretty cake too. It rose just right; the frosting turned out nice and fluffy.

If it wasn't meant to be a one-off deal, I'd work and work and work and make batch after after batch until it was perfected (like the others you've seen). This, however, I'm content to leave as a good learning experience.
